Method and sources

Archived NHC operational advisories, most-likely tropical-storm-force wind arrival products, advisory-time 34/50/64 kt wind radii, and NOAA NDFD alert grids are shown only after release. The H-Hour value is a public NHC-derived proxy, not a historical ARC or NHQ H-Hour record.

NDFD surfaces are selected concurrent operational alert evidence. County percentages are app-computed area intersections; they do not imply whole-county coverage or source attribution to the named storm. Short-fuse warning absence does not mean no warning existed.

County height is a transparent planning model based on households, track distance, hurricane risk, and social vulnerability. FEMA Individual Assistance designation is a separate post-event administrative outcome.

The optional Ian tract layer is a Google Earth Engine screening result derived from USGS SRTM 30-meter elevation, JRC Global Surface Water v1.4, and 2020 Census tracts. It excludes permanent water and is context, not a flood forecast or operational risk score.
